Citroen was founded in 1919 by Andre Citroen, a brilliant technician, who was also an adventurer and an inventor of modern style. Citroen has been at the forefront of automotive technology from producing the first car with four-wheel disc brakes to the hydro pneumatic suspension system. It was the first European car manufacturer to produce an all-steel-bodied car, and stunned the world in 1934 with the Traction Avant - the world's first mass produced front wheel drive car. The revolutionary Citroen DS and 2CV are arguably the most recognized of all of Citroen vehicles. Citroen is entering a new era with stylish new and sophisticated vehicles entering the line up.
